Ghanaian writer cum activist Waters Yidana has shared his idea on the dismissal of Michael Owusu Afriyie, widely known as Teacher Kwadwo by the Ghana Education Service.
According to Waters, Teacher Kwadwo is one of the best teachers he has ever seen and all his actions can be determined by the love he has for the job.
He continued that, for Ghana Education to sack teacher Kwadwo without any relevant issue means they don’t want Ghana education to reach its highest potential.
He added that the sacking of teacher Kwadwo will be relevant if he was caught engaging in drinking, defilement, document, document forgery, or missing contact hours with his students.
In his own words: “You cannot sack him if you genuinely want the best for Ghana’s education. I see him as a revolutionary teacher who wants the best for Ghana just like any other patriotic citizen”.
I follow him on Facebook and I see his good works in the teaching service; such a fine young man who has dedicated his youth and passion to see to the growth and development of pupils should rather be encouraged and supported for grooming our future leaders, not sacked…
“Teacher Kwadwo, I’m proud of you. You’re revolutionary by nature. you’ll be fine. Keep up the good works. Ghana will not forget you. You’ve proven to be a true citizen but not a hypocrite,” Yidana concluded.
