From Facebook, which owns WhatsApp, the messaging platform will not support smartphones running Android 4.0.3 or lower than that
In Apple’s case, those with Apple phones running iOS or lower will not able to use the messaging platform.
How to Determine Whether WhatsApp Support Has Ended on Your Android Device
- Go to Settings > About phone.
- Scroll down to look for the Android version running on your device.
- If it’s Android 4.0.4 or lower, you should look to switch to a device with a higher version of Android.
