We Must Reclaim Akwatia Seat, I’m Hurt That We Lost It – Akufo-Addo
Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was exploring the Eastern region at Akwatia and the president made a speech that, he has been disappointed as they lost the seat in Akwatia.
In the 2020 election, President Nana Akufo Addo and his party lost the seat in Akwatia and according to him, he is not satisfied with the situation.
In his speech, he said, Akwatia is not one of the towns he is supposed to lose seat there and he will try every in his power to return back the seat to their side in the 2024 election.
He made this speech in an ongoing durbar which includes the chiefs and the people in Akwatia.
He further explained that the reason why they lost the seat in Akwatia is that, after Mercy Gyamfi popularly known as Ama Sey won the seat at Akwatia in 2016 from NDC, she lost it back to Ernest Kumi who stands for the NDC.
“The NPP lost a lot of parliamentary seats we should have won in the 2020 elections. One of such seats which hurt me the most was the Akwatia seat. I honestly don’t know what happened but I was sad that Akwatia went to the NDC, but I can assure you that in 2024, we will do everything within our means to regain that seat” he said
