    Stonebwoy Biography, Music, Family, Net Worth & Awards

    Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage name Stonebwoy, is a Ghanaian Afropop, dance hall, and reggae musician. He is the CEO of Burniton Music Group. He won the Best International Act: Africa category at the 2015 BET Awards and Artist of the Year at the 2015 Ghana Music Awards. He was born on March 5, 1988, in Ashaiman in the Greater Accra region of Ghana, which means he is 33 years old.

    He started making music in his early school days. He recognized his talent early and made use of it so he started the writing and acting drama way back in his fourth year in primary school.

    Stoneboy’s father turned 74 years old on May 6, 2022, and unfortunately, he has lost his mother Catherine Satekla on July 29, 2015, after she has been admitted to 37 Military Hospital for a short period.

    He attended basic and junior high school education at Agyiri Nyarko School Complex in Ashaiman Jericho.
    This Ghanaian musician studied at Methodist Day Secondary school the same year with the Ghanaian best rapper Sarkodie. He earn a degree in marketing at the university of professional Studies in 2013. Then he moved to tertiary education at the University of professional studies to get his degree in Marketing in the year 2013

    Stoneboy married his longtime girlfriend Dr. Louisa Kwakye Ansong on Friday, June 16, 2017.
    They did the traditional marriage rites for the couple at the bride’s family home at Team and after they held the White Wedding at Trade Fair, Accra.

    God blessed them with a boy and a girl, their firstborn was a girl known as Catherine Jidula Satekla and she was born on March 17, 2018. Then the second with the name L Janam Joachim Satekla is just a year old

    Stoney s wife Ansong famously known as Dr. Louisa became popular when she won the Overall Best Student (Dental Surgery) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST)
    She won 6 out of 9 awards during the school’s graduation ceremony in 2016.
    She is working now as a dentist at the 37 Military Hospital. Their dating can be traced back to 2014 and as time goes on their relationship became tightened.

    Stonebwoy is a proud owner of a Benz 4Matic, a Range Rover, The car is a beast on the roads. He also owns a customized Hyundai Sonata. It’s armed with a 2.4 L engine. It has 185 horsepower meaning it can maintain its stability even when under high speed. The car was reported to be given to him after sealing a deal with Zylofon media. He also owns a Porsche Panamera. The luxurious car is worth a fortune and has a top speed of 170 mph.

    Livingstone Etse Satekla is one of the richest musicians currently in Ghana with an estimated net worth of $ 8 Million. He earns a lot from his world tours, online streams, and local shows. He also earns a lot of his income from the sale of his album. The album ‘Anloga Junction’ has brought in a lot of revenue. With more than 10 million views on Audiomack, the star has established his target audience across the world.


    During his first year in Senior High School, Livingstone met up with a radio DJ/Presenter, Doctor Duncan who at the time was the host of KASAHARI, a real-time rap battle programme.

    His first radio hit, Makuma (My Heart) was released in his second year at Senior High School plus several others that followed up later. By the third year, he had amassed for himself flaming underground popularity and went on to release another hit titled Empress which held him up years after leaving High School in 2007.

    Thereafter, things happened in quick succession and Stonebwoy soon started work with S24 studios in 2008. He later joined Samini ‘s HighGrade family and remained there until 2012, when he decided to put into practice all he had seen and learned when he formed his own record label called Burniton Music Group (BMG). Knowing the direction he was heading with his career, Stonebwoy worked day and night with his team to ensure that they achieved the best.

    Today, the result of hard work is certainly paying off for the young chap with collaborations with international acts from Africa, UK, Jamaica such as Jah Vinci, Trey Songz, Gappy Ranks, Randy Valentine, Sakordie, Wayne Wonder, Laza Morgan, Samini, Obrafour, Black Prophet, R2Bees, Patoranking, General Pype Stylogee, Burna Boy, Morgan Heritage, Chris Martin, I Octane, Kranium, Keri Hilson, Diamond Platinumz, and many others.

    With his electrifying and energetic performance, he has attracted a large fan base across the world having staged performances in UK, USA, Australia, Italy, Amsterdam, and many more countries and sharing the stage with acts such as Lauryn Hill, Alkaline, Busy Signal, Popcaan, and Morgan Heritage. Branding plays a very important role within the BMG group, and as a brand, Stonebwoy’s popular catchphrase – “BHIM!!!!!‟(Bless His Imperial Majesty) – has been largely received and accepted, not just within Ghana and Africa, but in Europe too.

    Stonebwoy Albums

    Stonebwoy has so far recorded four studio albums, namely; Grade 1 Album, Necessary Evil, EOM, and Anloga Junction.

    Under “Samini Music”, Stonebwoy recorded his first hit single “Climax” featuring Samini and subsequently “Ghetto Love” featuring Irene Logan. Both songs earned him nominations at the Ghana Music Awards. After this exposure, he released his debut album “Grade 1 Album”. The album contains seventeen tracks that featured prominent Ghanaian artists including Tinny and Edem aside from those mentioned above. The release of the debut album made the Stonebwoy brand a household name in the music industry.

    In 2014, Satekla released his second album, called the Necessary Evil. It consists of twenty-nine tracks, including the famous Baafira track that featured Sarkodie.

    Released on December 12, 2017; the Epistles of Mama was dedicated to Satekla’s late mother by the name of Mrs. Catherine Lucy Aku Ametepe Satekla. The 24 track album features Sean Paul, King Promise, Burna Boy. The album peaked at number thirteen on Billboard chart top 200 albums worldwide.

    On 24th April 2020, Stonebwoy released his fourth studio album which featured the likes of Keri Hilson (US), Nasty C (SA), Diamond Platinumz, Alicia Harley (Jamaica), Jahmiel (Jamaica), Zlatan (Nigeria), Kojo Antwi (Ghana), Chivv (Netherlands) and Spanker (Netherlands). He also worked with producers like Mix Master Garzy, Streetbeatz, M.O.G. Beatz, Spanker, Riga, Phantom, Ipaapi, and others.

    Stonebwoy Awards

    Livingstone Etse Satekla has won 22 awards out of 25 nominations. He has 7 VGMAs to his credit, one BET award, after missing the opportunity to make it two in 2017, and a Grammy nomination also to his credit.

    Stonebwoy was recently named the Brand Ambassador for ‘Big Boss’ a new energy drink until it was later revealed he was actually a majority shareholder. He has been listed as part of the 2019 50 (fifty) young CEOs, by YCEO and Avance media.

    Stonebwoy Houses

    Stonebwoy, at 32, can boast of two houses, one being a family house he renovated at Ashaiman Lebanon Zone 2, and his own house at Tema Community 22 where he bought for himself and his wife.
