The Operation Calm Life team and Ghana Police which comprises the Military will take over the campus of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) from Saturday, September 18.
The Police water Canon has been intricate on the campus already.
The University Relations Officer told Tv3’s William Evans- Nkum that the directive forms part of a recommendation made by a committee that investigated the July clashes between the University Hall and Unity during SRC vetting.

Students of the KNUST have been cautioned not to remain on campus after mid-day on Saturday, September 18.
Only foreign and permitted students by the management can stay on campus, the Ashanti regional minister has directed.
According to the Ashanti Regional security council (REGSE), some students are planning to destroy things on campus this Friday, before the vacation.
The Head of REGSE, Simon Osei Mensah, who doubles as the Regional Minister, in a press statement, said the campus is still a security zone which was declared in 2018

Part of the statement reads “It is instructive to remind the student population that the declaration of the University Campus as a security zone in November 2018, is still in force and, therefore, it is an offense to demonstrate within the security zone,”
He added, “ensure peace and security and prevent any unruly behavior by any group of students”.
