Michael Owusu Addo, known professionally as Sarkodie is a Ghanaian rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur from Tema. His contributions to the Ghanaian music industry have earned him numerous accolades, including the Vodafone Ghana Music Award for “Artiste of the Decade”
He was born on July 10, 1985, which means he is 36 years old at the time of this publication and has a wife whose name is Tracy Owusu Addo popularly known as Tracy Sarkcess, she is also a Ghanaian entrepreneur.
He earned a degree in graphic design from IPMC and after that, he got a job to work for a billboard company but he didn’t take it but rather went for music.
He attended Tema Methodist Senior high school that’s where he developed his craft more to become the best he is today and also attended Achimota Preparatory school. Maame Aggrey is the mother of Sarkodie and Mr. Augustine Owusu Addo is also the name of his father.
He has the highest number of nominations and awards in Ghana and his debut album is “Makye” which was released in the year 2009.
Followed by ” Rapperholic” in the year 2012
And then “Sarkology” in 2014
He also released “Mary” in 2015 and according to him, the album was named after his grandmother who died in 2012.
Sarkodie addressed students of Harvard University in the united states on February 27, 2016, and the Sarkodie Foundation was also launched on July 13, 2023.
In April 2016, Sarkodie and his wife welcomed a baby girl whose name is Adalyn Owusu Addo.
From his awards, it can be testified that he is one of the best musicians of all time and lynx TV ranked him as 1st on the top Ghanaian rappers of all time.
