Russia-Ukraine War: Ghanaian Students want Ghana Gov’t to evacuate them as tensions rise in Russia-Ukraine War

Ghanaian nationals and students in Ukraine have appealed to the Ghanaian government to intervene and rescue them from the war-torn country as tensions rise.

Their appeal was made via the foreign ministry, and they disclose that they are presently living in dread as tensions in the nation escalate.

Ukraine-based Ghanaian civilians have already voiced their outrage and amazement at the government’s silence on the devastation they are presently experiencing as the crisis continues to grow.

Dr. Araba Maame Arkoah, a Ghanaian medical practitioner in Ukraine, asked during an interview on Accra-based Starr FM whether the Ghanaian government had heard nothing about the escalating tensions in Ukraine and Russia.

“We’re becoming more fearful, and we need government assistance.” As things are today, we must return home. “I’m terrified, terrified, and everyone around me is terrified,” she said.

The war between these two nations began when Russian President Vladimir Putin started a massive military attack against Ukraine, Russia’s southern neighbour.

There have been reports of strikes around the nation against Ukrainian military facilities, as well as Russian convoys approaching from all angles.

Putin, on the other hand, has encouraged Ukrainian forces in the battle zone to lay down their guns and return home, but has said that clashes are inevitable and “just a matter of time.”
