President Akufo-Addo Flies To US To Hold Fundraising Event To Build National Cathedral
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, The President of Ghana has flown to New York City to support a fundraising event for National Cathedral.
The Organizers of the National cathedral committee of Ghana convened successful fundraising in New York City over the weekend to generate money to help build the National Cathedral promised by the President of Ghana in the 2016 elections.

His Excellency was captured in a photo with the organizers after the event and at the end of the event, the president expressed his gratitude to everyone who participated and avail themselves to help the project towards the building of the Cathedral.
He disclosed to them that the project is about national interest, not an individual hence the need to support the fundraising of the cathedral. According to a publication from Wikipedia, the national cathedral is a planned interdenominational Christian cathedral to be built in Accra the capital city of the nation as part of the 60th-anniversary celebrations to Ghana.
The cathedral designs were disclosed by the President of Ghana, Akufo Addo in march 2018 and it will contain an auditorium capable of accommodating 5,000 people including chapels, and baptistery. It will also situate a music school and art gallery, and a museum dedicated to the Holy Bible.

The cathedral design throws back the culture and art of Ghanaian ethnic groups.
David Adjaye, a British Ghanaian born is the architect of the ongoing project.
