A man, Oyedele Nutai Joseph, and his wife, Elizabeth Joseph, were on Tuesday, January 18, arrested by men of Ogun state police command for unlawfully invading Toyon High school Ere village in Ado Odo area of the state, with thugs to attack a teacher, Abel Thomas, for beating their son, Joshua Joseph, an SS3 student of the school.
The culprits were apprehended after police officers at Ado Odo divisional headquarters got a distress call from the school reporting that the parents of one of their children were inside the school with thugs and had threatened and wounded one of the instructors.
When the DPO of Ado Odo division, SP Arowojeun Michael, received the distress call, he immediately led his men to the school, where the couple was caught and their other accomplices fled.
A preliminary inquiry indicated that teacher Abel Thomas’moderately corrected’ Joshua Joseph, an SS3 pupil at the school, who subsequently went home to notify his parents that he had been beaten by the teacher.
After hearing from their kid, the parents recruited several thugs and attacked the school, believing the instructor had no right to beat their son for whatever reason.
They fell hard on the instructor, beating and injuring him upon their arrival at the school. Additionally, they vandalized the back window of a Toyota Corolla with the registration number LSD 395 FV belonging to another teacher at the school, Jolayemi Sunday.
Confirming the event, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police command’s spokeswoman, said the injured teacher had been brought to a hospital for medical care, adding that a manhunt for the thugs had been initiated.
