    NCCE clash with MoE over attempt to remove Social Studies from SHS syllabus

    Josephine Nkrumah, who is the occupant Chairperson of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has portrayed the endeavor to eliminate Social investigations in schools as a move that will spell destruction for Ghana.

    The Chairperson talking at the Social Studies National Conference at the University of Education, Winneba, said the investigation of Social Studies stays the heartbeat of humankind.

    “Social Studies is the heartbeat of humanity. You cannot take that away. No matter what you do, you will live, work, co-exist, worship, fight, build on peace together as a people. So, there is no reason why Social studies should be scrapped in any shape or form on this earth.”

    As per her, the investigation of social examinations permits individuals to analyze themselves and improve and upgrade everyday routine and experiencing on this planet continually.

    NCCE depicts as “unbelievable” endeavors to eliminate Social Studies from the SHS prospectus.  Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, Prof Andy Ofori Birikorang

    “You see robots serving in restaurants, delivering food to the homes of people, collecting garbage, and doing other things humans are supposed to do. All these should tell us a lot. We need to have an innovative way of maintaining the physical and social connections,” she advised

    The NCCE seat, hence, engaged the GES and the Ministry of Education to relook the strategy else the eventual fate of Ghana doesn’t look encouraging if the social schedule is taken out from the prospectus
