The Teranga Lions of Senegal couldn’t control their happiness after they won their ever African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

On February 6, 2022, the Teranga Lions of Senegal won the AFCON tournament during the 2021 edition of the tournament.

According to records, they have been to the finals three times and they were able to snatch the trophy from the North African giants, Egypt.

The president of Senegal, Macky Sall announced Monday, February 7 as a public holiday to celebrate the win of their team.

This news was reported on National television and they continued that the President has stopped a trip he was supposed to engage in just to meet the players today and congratulate them.

The reports read: “The President of the republic declared Monday a public holiday, a paid day off, following the brilliant victory of the Lions.”
