Damilola Olakanmi, a 23-year-old Nigerian law student studying in the United Kingdom, died after consuming cannabis sweets acquired online with a partner.
Olakanmi, who lives in Ilford, east London, with her mother, was claimed to have acquired the ‘gummies’ using a messaging app and had them delivered to her house, where she became unwell last Tuesday.
Olakanmi and her buddy, 21, both felt unwell after eating the treats, according to the Mirror UK.
According to the report, her companion fled but died.
According to accounts, Olakanmi is her mother’s only child.
Meanwhile, Leon Brown, 37, was arrested and charged with possessing with the intent to distribute a psychoactive narcotic, being involved in the distribution of synthetic cannabis, and having with the intent to distribute a Class B synthetic cannabinoid.
