According to Los Angeles police, Kanye West – now known as Ye – has been labelled as a suspect in an alleged violence offence.
The rapper is under investigation after a complaint of an incident in the early hours of Thursday morning in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said in a statement that officers responded to a report around 3 a.m.
“A battery report has been completed, and Kanye West has been identified as a suspect.”
“No arrests have been made, and our Newton Division is investigating the matter,” they stated. The 44-year-old seems to have been socializing with Madonna, boxer Floyd Mayweather, and actress Julia Fox in the hours before the alleged offence.
They were just featured in an Instagram video listening to Drake’s music. On the same day, Ye was confirmed to headline Coachella 2022 with Harry Styles and Billie Eilish.
He is set to play on Sundays at the world-famous festival, which takes place in April in the Southern California desert.
Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from the rapper in February, alleging “irreconcilable disagreements” that “continued to persist” between the couple.
Newsbeat has not received a response from Ye’s agents.
