The Ministry of Finance has given the Ghana Education permission for recruitment of newly trained teachers
“Financial clearance is hereby granted to the Hon. Minister of Education to enable the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service to recruit sixteen thousand, eight hundred and fifty (16,850) newly trained teachers for the service,”
Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa who is the Director-General of Ghana Education Service (GES) has also been informed to ensure that teachers have all their necessary documents processed in time for the payments of their salaries
“The Controller and Accountant-General are requested to effect the payment of salaries of the newly trained teachers and make appropriate deductions of Social Security and Income Tax to SSNIT and the Domestic Tax Division of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) respectively,” it said.
Newly trained teachers have switched into a merry mood after hearing about the payments of their salaries
