Finance Minister Tells University Fresh Graduates To Start Their Own Business Because Gov’t Payroll Is Full

Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta who is the Minister for finance and economic planning in the cabinet of Nana Akufo Addo has declared that graduate students should start their own business.

Minister Ken Ofori Atta cautioned fresh graduates of the University of Professional Studies-Accra (UPSA) to stop looking upon the government for work.

He continued that, they should start applying the knowledge they had during the years and start their own business.

He said the government payroll is full so graduates students should do something for themselves.

He declared that “… most people look for a job from government or state institutions, but that payroll is full. I can tell you that because we are spending about 60 percent of our revenue on remunerating some 650,000 people, and that is not sustainable,”

According to him, having an entrepreneurial mindset is very relevant in this country and it can make one successful.

If graduates want to be financially stable and even beyond that then they have to adopt the motive to use the skills they acquired during school days to start an entrepreneurship.
