Ghanaian actress Andrea Owusu, well known as Efia Odo has educated a social media user by comparing the taxation in the states and that of Ghana.
The actress voiced out that we shouldn’t compare the United States of America which has improved in its economy to that of Ghana.
She made these utterances after a social media user slammed her over her insensitive assertions towards the E-Levy introduced by the government.
The Social media user indicated that the United States of America still needs taxes in order to improve the lives of its citizens.
The social media user wrote @Efiaodo1 How much tax have you paid to the State in the last 5 years? The State needs money to undertake projects to uplift the living standards of the people. Have you visited NY lately to see what’s going on? 93 octane gas now around $5 per gallon,
Efia Odo reacting to the comments explained that anytime she steps out to buy some time in America, she pays taxes indirectly but in Ghana here we have to pay taxes again.
She wrote: Each time I step foot in America and make a purchase, I’ve paid tax on it. I haven’t worked in America since 2015 but I’ve been paying taxes in Ghana! And in America when you file for a tax return, you’ll get your return!! Don’t compare a working economy to this hell hole!
